Print Your Own Ribbon Tutorial--Part II

Continued from Print Your Own Ribbon--Part I

7. According to Avery Fabric Transfer instructions, find a surface that is waist-high or lower (this will maximize the amount of pressure you are able to apply) to place the iron mat. Iron should be empty of all water and set for NO STEAM. Set iron to the highest cotton temperature setting and preheat for 5 minutes.

8. Lay down the light color ribbon on iron mat, iron the ribbon for a couple of minutes to remove any moisture from ribbon). Then place Avery Fabric Transfer strip with image facing down. The strip shouldn't be wider than the ribbon. Usually the right end of the strip is blank, need to trim off before place on the ribbon.

9. Use both hands and apply firm downward body pressure. First make slow, 20 second passes across the entire strip, from left to right. Next make slow, 20 second passes across the transfer, from right to left. Allow ribbon to cool for 2 minutes then peel the paper backing from the transfer.

10. Next, we need to print another piece to the ribbon. Be careful do not touch the part with transfer--it'll melt the tranfer layer.

11. Continue until get the lenth of the printed ribbon desired.

12. To speed up, lay down 2 pieces of strips at a time.

13. Here are what we got.
