Step 3 - Let material cool, then peel off backing of Heat N Bond.

Step 4 - Keeping material "wrong side up," fold over the extra edge of material without Heat n Bond on it, and iron it down onto Heat N Bond strip, making a finished edge. Repeat on both long sides of the material.

Step 5 - Flip material over "right side up," and iron strip of material onto cotton webbing, making sure to center it along the webbing.

Step 6 - Choose a stitch for anchoring the sides of your fabric down. My machine has decorative stitches, so I like to use one of those. If your machine only has a straight stitch, that will work fine. Test the stitch on a scrap of fabric to make sure it looks the way you want before starting to stitch on your webbing.

Step 7 - Stitch along the edge of your fabric, securing the edge onto the webbing. Get as close as you can to the edge of the fabric without going over. Work slowly so you can adjust as needed. Go all the way around the fabric - the ends will be covered up by the hardware, but stitching them will add extra security.

Step 8 - Fold over the cotton webbing, right sides out, and match up the ends. Stitch the end closed, with approximately 1/4" seam allowance. You can use any stitch here, it won't show.

Step 9 - Line up the end of the webbing in your key fob tip, making sure you have it positioned exactly where you want it. Wrap tip in felt, a material scrap, a towel or whatever is handy (this will protect the metal from being scratched), and squeeze tip closed with your pliers. (There is a great tool for this sold at Lowe's called "sheet metal pliers," but it is expensive at $27 - regular pliers work fine, but make sure you clamp down each end securely).

Step 10 - Trim any loose threads. Attach key ring. Marvel at your success!
